ANDREW GOSDEN | Police Failures and Endless Questions

Radio Espial - True Crime, with thanks
On 14 September 2007, 14-year-old Andrew Gosden vanished after leaving his home in Balby, Doncaster, and travelling alone by train to King’s Cross Station in London. He bought a one-way ticket, left his family with no note or warning, and was last seen on CCTV walking out of King’s Cross—then seemingly disappearing without a trace. Andrew was described as quiet, intelligent, and not the type of teenager to run away, making his sudden disappearance even more disturbing. In the weeks and months that followed, police received multiple reported sightings across London and beyond, but none were ever confirmed. The investigation later faced serious criticism, including delays in securing vital CCTV footage, and claims that officers placed too much pressure on Andrew’s father, Kevin Gosden, during the early stages.

"A 14-year-old boy with perfect attendance and excellent grades, decided to skip school and take an hour and a half train ride to the capital. His reason for traveling that day, and his subsequent fate, were never established. While police and family remain hopeful he is alive, there are no clues to help solve his disappearance. "

“Almost every day since he disappeared, I have struggled with anxiety and depression, to the extent that it is barely possible to function. What would we have done without Missing People? Having had support for 17 years, I can literally tell you it’s a lifesaver and you just can’t put a value on it.”
